The beaches of Gower are undoubtedly its main attraction. The South Gower coastline boasts many fine swimming beaches like Caswell and Oxwich as well as exceptionally beautiful and secluded bays such as Pwll Du. Four beaches have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag Award which gives assurance of bathing water quality. These are Caswell, Langland, Bracelet and Port Eynon. These four beaches are also patrolled by Lifeguards during weekends in May and daily throughout the summer from June until September between 10.00am to 6.00pm. Just remember to bathe between the red and yellow flags. Dog Owners are advised that dogs are banned on some beaches from May to June and signs are erected at the particular bays. Many beaches offer unrestricted access to dogs all year round.
